In 2023, Powell Valley Millwork Joined CMPC

Powell Valley Millwork joined the CMPC family as their first U.S. acquisition. Powell Valley Millwork is now the flagship operation that has expanded CMPC’s presence in the U.S., making CMPC the first manufacturer to offer both Poplar and Radiata Pine to the U.S. market.

CMPC incorporated as initiating the production of paper, cardboard, and cellulose based on wheat straw in the Puente Alto neighborhood of Santiago.

Recognizing demand for interior millwork, Thornberry Enterprises focuses on finger-joint Poplar production. The Thornberry’s continue to grow their production in Kentucky, adding new clients and programs across North America, consuming finger-joint Poplar products.

CMPC and Powell Valley Millwork engage in the first inquiry regarding domestic production, reflecting the beginning of discussions. Over these two years, conversations and trust grow between Powell Valley Millwork and CMPC, exploring new ideas for approaching the millwork markets in the United States.

Powell Valley and CMPC enter into a formal agreement to acquire the facilities in Kentucky, marking CMPC’s first US-based manufacturing operation for both Radiata and Poplar millwork.
