Building the Future: Powell Valley Millwork Announces Major Expansion Across Kentucky Facilities

Powell Valley Millwork is proud to announce a significant expansion project that will enhance operations at both our Clay City and Jeffersonville facilities. Backed by our parent company, CMPC, this multi-year, $30 million investment represents a pivotal step forward in our mission to grow U.S. manufacturing capacity, strengthen our team, and deliver even greater value to our customers.

This expansion includes new buildings, equipment, and land development, designed to increase production capacity, automation, and efficiency. Once complete, the project is expected to create more than 50 new jobs and further establish Kentucky as a leader in sustainable wood manufacturing.

Expanding Capacity. Strengthening Capabilities.

The Clay City facility will be dedicated exclusively to Poplar production, while Jeffersonville will focus on Radiata Pine, allowing Powell Valley Millwork to optimize each site for its core material strengths. Together, these investments will improve lead times, product consistency, and supply reliability for customers across North America.

We’re also introducing advanced technology from key industry partners, further modernizing our production processes to enhance precision, safety, and throughput. This project aligns with CMPC’s broader 2030 strategy—a commitment to expanding sustainable forestry and manufacturing practices across global markets.

A Commitment to People and Progress

Beyond the physical expansion, this project represents an investment in our people and community. By expanding local employment opportunities and creating safer, more efficient working environments, we’re ensuring long-term stability and growth for our teams and their families.

Looking Ahead

With the support of CMPC, our employees, and the Kentucky community, Powell Valley Millwork is building for the future—expanding not just our capacity, but also our commitment to craftsmanship, sustainability, and customer service.

Stay tuned as we share progress updates and milestones throughout this exciting new chapter.
